Creeds

The Garden is grounded in the historic covenants and creeds of the Christian faith. We believe in the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and are committed to embodying his teachings through the way we live, love, and serve in the world.

*The word “catholic” in the Nicene and Apostles’ Creeds is an ancient term meaning universal. It speaks of the worldwide, historic Church—God’s people across all nations and generations—united in Christ. The Garden is a Protestant church and is not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church.

Our Sending Church: The Well Austin

The Garden was planted out of the life and leadership of The Well Austin, a gospel-centered and diverse church with a deep commitment to planting healthy churches around the world. Their vision is bold and faithful: to plant 100 churches nationally and 100 churches internationally within their first 50 years. By God’s grace, they have already planted four churches in the U.S. and sent six missionaries who are planting churches and sharing the gospel among people who have never heard.

We were deeply formed through an 18-month church planting residency at The Well, where we were trained, shepherded, and prepared for the work of planting The Garden. They officially sent us as our own church, and we continue to be cared for, supported, and covered by their leadership and community.

We are profoundly grateful for The Well’s heart for church planting, their generosity, and their faithfulness to send leaders out for the sake of the gospel. We are honored to be a fruit of their mission and to carry that same heart for sending into the life of The Garden.
